VIP Store Grand Re-Opening

Ludia announces a Grand Re-Opening of the VIP store with lower prices. VIP creatures (or at least the one that is currently available, the Apatosaurus) is now half of its original price. It now costs 15000 VIP points instead of 30000 VIP points. It seems this is Ludias response to the overall negative reaction of players to the VIP program, which was added in the recent Omega 09 update. Maybe they didn't see the number of VIP membership sales that they were expecting and this is an attempt to increase those sales. Regardless what Ludia's reason is, the bottom line is that it is now easier to win the number of VIP points needed to purchase a VIP creature. If you ask me, the Apatosaurus is worth having. It's health is battle is exceptionally strong. You can see all its stats on the Apatosaurus profile page. If you want to take advantage of the Apatosaurus' new lower price, you had better act fast because at the time of this post, it's only available for another 1 day and 14 hours. Kudos to Ludia on the price reduction.

It's good to know they reduced the price by half, which makes it easier for people to get the points needed to initially purchase a vip creature. However, from what I can see, it's still necessary to purchase 8 of them using vip points if you want the vip creatures to be fully levelled.

To be honest, I don't think the price reduction alone makes getting a vip membership worth it. It's still going to take a very long time for anyone who doesn't hack to gain enough vip points to level these creatures up. And that's without spending tons of real money on card packs to gain the needed points faster.

What are your thoughts? Do you still think the vip membership isn't worth getting? And if it isn't, what changes do you think Ludia still needs to make in order to make the vip membership worth the money?

Hi Monica I suppose it kinda depends on how you look at it. As part of a VIP membership purchase you get a legendary creature. So this alone makes a membership purchase a better value than purchasing just a legendary card park. The membership costs less than a legendary card pack (at its normal price), plus you get the VIP "benefits". In the time since the omega 09 update, it appears that Ludia has also made winning legendary card packs more of a VIP thing, as any event offering legendary card packs as a prize has been a VIP invite only event. So if you're looking to win some legendary card packs, it may be worth it in that sense. Putting all that aside, I think that Ludia needs to address one other factor before a VIP membership purchase becomes more worthwhile. Currently, they are offering each VIP creature for a week, then they offer another one for a week. Even with the price reduction, this limited offering makes it difficult to build up enough VIP points to purchase each creature (assuming you want them all). Then, like you mentioned, if you want to level it up past 10, you need to win enough points to purchase more of them. The only way around this is to save up VIP points until you're at the end of your membership and buy a couple of whatever happens to be available at that time... and hope it's one that you want or is worth having. I think they need to unlock all VIP creatures permanently, allowing you to save up and purchase what you want, however many you can afford/want and most importantly, make that purchase at your leisure. It wouldn't hurt to extend the length of the membership either, 6 months or maybe even a year. If they made those two changes, I think they'd see a notable increase in VIP membership sales. So it really depends on how you look at it as to whether or not a membership is worth buying. If you're just looking to purchase a legendary card pack, it is worth it. But if you are after a VIP creature, especially if there is a specific one you want, I still don't see the purchase of a membership being worthwhile... there is too many variables that restrict you're ability to truly benefit from being VIP. Overall, I think the program still has room to improve.
